Born and raised on a small farm called Hermansburg outside Nelspruit, Thembelihle Dladla, affectionately known as “Lowa umtfwana”, is a passionate and vibrant voice in Mpumalanga’s airwaves. Her radio journey began in 2006 when she joined Ligwalagwala FM as an on-air presenter and sports broadcaster, and she has remained a staple voice on the station ever since.
Education & Early Life
- Matriculated from Mbuyane Senior Secondary School in 1997.
- Studied Media Consulting at Boston Business College and Business Administration Management at Stanford Business College.
- Despite financial challenges, her drive and commitment to media never wavered.
Radio Career at Ligwalagwala FM
Since 2006, Thembelihle has carved a unique space for herself as a sports presenter known for her engaging delivery, infectious energy, and deep knowledge of local and international sports. Off-air, she’s a role model and mentor, committed to empowering women through sports and media.
Beyond the Microphone
- Founder of TK Stars Ladies Football Club, a proud initiative that showcases her love for soccer and community development.
- If not in radio, she believes she would be a social worker or criminal defence lawyer, driven by a passion for justice and people.
