About Me
From his early beginnings as an assistant at the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in 2002 to becoming a prominent radio personality by 2015, Senzo S Mashego has earned his place in the limelight. Now, he’s gearing up to take on a new role as a sports anchor on the Asambe Drive Show, airing weekdays from 15:00 to 18:00 alongside DJ Shaba and co-host Nobuhle. “I’m excited to join the Asambe Drive team. I respect DJ Shaba as my brother and Nobuhle as my sister. It’s just one big family,” says Senzo.
Key Achievements
Senzo’s career has been marked by continuous growth, with one of his proudest milestones being the Sekunjalo Magazine Show, which is his first solo sports show on Ligwalagwala FM. Airing on Fridays from 18:00 to 19:00, this show profiles PSL soccer players and coaches, providing listeners with current, interactive content. The show stands out by engaging listeners in real-time discussions on the latest happenings in the South African soccer world.
Passion for Sport
Senzo’s love for sports began in his primary school days. He was deeply involved in both soccer and cricket, and he was a member of the Ace Cricket Club in Nelsville. He even pursued his dream of becoming a professional cricketer by applying for Cape Cobras Cricket team trials. However, when that dream had to be set aside, his passion for radio presenting took the forefront in 2007, marking the beginning of his broadcasting career.
Radio Career
Senzo’s journey to becoming a sports presenter wasn’t immediate. He began as a party DJ on Saturdays from 21:00 to 00:00, before getting his big break when he was offered the chance to broadcast a soccer match. His deep knowledge of sports and his natural presenting skills helped him excel, leading to his permanent position as a sports presenter.

Hailing from a small community, Senzo always aspired to be heard by millions of people across the country. Today, with his Sekunjalo Magazine Show and his role on Asambe Drive, he has fulfilled his dreams of becoming a household name.
