About Mduduzi Cliff Ntiwane

Mduduzi Cliff Ntiwane, known as “Iron” to his fans, is a highly respected SABC Sport Producer, Presenter, and Analyst, with a career that spans both football and broadcasting. His journey began on the football field, where he first played at the age of six. Ntiwane’s love for football was nurtured when he joined the Barberton All Blacks in 1988, excelling in the under-12 Chappies Little League. From there, he continued to stand out as one of the best players in his school and provincial teams, representing the region with pride.

As he advanced in his career, Ntiwane’s talent earned him a spot on the national under-23 squad for Vision 2000 (Ama Glug-glug), where he was coached by Mich D’ Avery, Khabo Zondo, and the late Patric Ace. His skills on the field were soon recognized by top-tier teams, leading him to join the PSL team, The Real Rovers. Despite the team’s relegation, Ntiwane’s passion for the game did not waver, and he briefly signed with Kaizer Chiefs, though an agreement was not finalized. His football journey ended in 2006/2007 after a career-ending injury while playing for PJ Starts.

Ntiwane’s love for sports extended beyond the football pitch into broadcasting. In 2008, he began co-hosting ema-Sunday Koos alongside Mandla, presenting sport bulletins on BCR FM in his hometown of Barberton. This led to his own sports show, Sport Zone, and marked the beginning of his career in radio.

In 2012, he joined the Ligwalagwala FM sport team, where he has become an essential voice in sports journalism and analysis. His journey reflects his motto, “Nothing comes easy in life and it’s a marathon, Impossible is nothing,” and continues to inspire others in both the football and media industries.
